pacing myself

pacing myself
the pitter patter of times feet
pound annoyingly in my head
and i stare blankly at the moments lost
they echo as they fly by teasing
me with what ifs and too bads
but i do not hate or long for them
i simply smile because i realize
the ones that are missed are never more
important than the ones lived or the one
i am living now

Nice work, Rob, particularly like the opening line.
I really like this Robb. Nice writing!
It is always good to see something new from you. :-)
Robb, glad to see you writing! I like the message of this poem. The last three lines are so very wise and so very true!
SO nice to see a new poem from you. I love the smile, and the recognition that the "lost" moments were not as important as the lived ones. Keep writing, Robb!
what, you write poetry?? ;)
love this, robb. very wise and important to remember, really.
keep writing! you have SO much extra time now for following your muse.
looking forward to reading all of it.
What a very good attitude to have about that theif, Time.
Sensible philosophy!
That's a wise way of living without regrets.
I love this one, Robb. Yes, every moment has its meaning. Nice to see you out and about in the blogosphere again! You were missed!
A powerful message of human life's equality to one another.
This is a wonderful poem that reminds us to live our lives according to the moment of experience, not to hold on to regrets and maybe to stop procrastinating (my biggest problem!) Thanks for sharing!

Robb, it's always a treat to read your words - you have such an original voice and style - a talent to be nurtured for sure.
Simple wisdom. It is now. Now is all it is.
"the ones that are missed are never more
important than the ones lived or the one
i am living now"
a thoughts provoking line!
Robert, I like "but I do not hate or long for them" - it is well said and it is when the poem turns toward that fine ending.
Richard
Robert,
Excellent words which point to the enjoyment of what we already have....
Best wishes, Eileen
Robert, I was about to post this comment, just as the Blogger problem happened. Your comment left at my poem has disappeared.
Thank you any way for your words and visit.
Eileen
I couldn't have said it any better!
Great ending.
